Classes
Prenatal yoga
Your body is changing, growing, carrying a new life. Prenatal yoga gives you room to slow down and to be with your baby for an hour. Gentle movement, breathing, deep rest. Classes are taught in Dutch and English, whichever the room needs.
Book this class
When can you start?
You are welcome from around week 14. Many women come for the first time around week 20, once the first months are behind them and some energy has returned. Joining later is fine too. You can keep coming until you give birth, for as long as it feels right.
No yoga experience needed. Some of the women in the room have never been on a mat before.
What a class looks like
An hour, with time to arrive. We start seated, paying attention to how you are sitting that particular day. Then slow movement that makes space in your hips, lower back and pelvis, adjusted to how far along you are. We work with the breath, not as a technique but as something to fall back on. The class ends with a long rest.
There is room to talk. What is shared in that circle stays there.
What to bring
Comfortable clothes you can sit in. Mats, cushions, bolsters and blankets are all there.
Where
Classes are in Amsterdam Zuid, on Hygiëaplein. A quiet studio with a lot of daylight.
Classes in English
Amsterdam Zuid has a large international community, and you will not be the only one in the room who is not Dutch. Say so when you book and the class is taught in English.
After the birth
Once your baby is here, Mini & Me baby yoga is where you carry on moving together. The baby massage course teaches you how to massage your baby at home.
What it does for you
- Eases physical complaints such as back pain and a tight pelvic floor
- Teaches breathing techniques you can use during labour
- Makes room for rest in a period when your head tends to be full

- Puts you in a room with other expecting mothers
