Do I need yoga experience?
No. Some of the people in class have never been on a mat. Classes are built so you can join without knowing anything, and there is always an easier option.
Do I need any experience with massage?
No. You learn the strokes step by step and practise them on your own baby straight away.
From what age can my baby join?
From around three months, once your baby holds their own head up. Up to eighteen months is welcome.
From which week can I join prenatal yoga?
From around week 14. Many women start around week 20. You can keep coming until you give birth, for as long as it feels right.
Does baby massage help with cramps?
For an unsettled belly you learn the strokes that work on the gut. Many parents notice a difference, though this is not medical treatment. If your baby keeps crying a lot, see your child health clinic or GP.
What if my baby cries or needs feeding?
Then you feed or comfort them. The class carries on and nobody minds. That is what this class is built around.
What should I bring?
Just comfortable clothes. Mats, cushions, bolsters and blankets are all there. For Yin, warm socks help, since you cool down lying still.
How do I book and pay?
Pick a class on the schedule page and leave your name and email. Your spot is then held. The confirmation email contains a Tikkie payment link for the right amount. If it is not paid within a day you get a reminder, and after that the spot is released.
Can I cancel?
Yes. Your confirmation email contains a cancellation link. Cancel more than 24 hours before class and the class goes back onto your card. After that the class is used up, though the spot is freed for someone else.
How long is a class card valid?
A card of 3 classes is valid for three months from the day you buy it.
Are classes taught in English?
If someone in the room does not speak Dutch, the class is taught in English. Mention it when you book.
Where are the classes?
Hygiëaplein 7, 1076 RN Amsterdam Zuid. Tram 24 stops around the corner and there is paid parking nearby. The name on the door is Yoga DNA. That is the right entrance.
